Fire can be a powerful tool to enhance your spiritual practice. A Fire Cleansing Ceremony releases unpleasant memories, fears, low emotions, and anything you are holding onto that no longer serves you.
The flames can purify your regrets, emotional wounds, and bad habits helping you heal deeply. At the same time, your intentions get a boost as you relinquish them over to Spirit.
Fire Cleansing is great at the change of seasons, Full Moon, and ringing in the New Year. It can also be done any time you need clarity or to shift your energy.
Before You Light The Fire:
Gather your materials:
- Source of fire (matches or lighter)
- Fire container such as a metal bowl, firepit, BBQ grill, or even a candle.
- Extinguisher, hose, or jug of water to put out the fire.
Ground yourself. This is important before doing any ritual work. Close your eyes and take several deep breaths. Plant your feet on the ground. Imagine you are a tree and your roots are growing deep into the earth. Feel yourself tethered to the earth. You are safe and secure now.
Do some self-reflection and write down or draw what you want to manifest. Do you desire a fulfilling career? A love partner? Your life’s purpose?
Also write down what you would like to release. It could be something you are worried about, negative habits or thoughts, someone whose energy you no longer want around you.
I usually like to write or draw one thing per piece of paper. This way, each item is a mini ceremony onto itself. You can burn photos, cards, documents, etc. Just use common sense and avoid throwing glass or anything flammable into the fire.
How To Do The Fire Cleansing
It’s time to light the fire! First, don’t be that guy (or gal) – perform your ritual outdoors, in a well-ventilated area, away from shrubbery, and use caution.
Say a prayer to the Spiritual Source you believe in and ask this higher power to help you with this ceremony. Place each item individually into the fire while you name what you are releasing or calling in.
Recently, I burned (cleansed) my taxes from years in which I lacked abundance, purpose, and a voice. I released this dark period of my life and watched the paper burn away all that negativity and low self-worth. Then, I claimed renewed purpose, success, and boldness. I also claimed the growth of my healing business. It was magical and freeing.
Conclude your ceremony
Thank the fire for its service and put it out. Also give thanks to your Spiritual Source for joining you and supporting your ritual.
All Fire Cleansing ceremonies are perfect. It doesn’t matter how you do it, as long as you are fire safe. Your intention is the star of this show.
